Alake Pilgrim

Alake writes for children and adults. Her stories have been published by Small Axe, the Center for Fiction and in international anthologies such as New Daughters of Africa (ed. Margaret Busby). She has an MA in Creative Writing from the University of East Anglia in the UK, thanks to the Booker Prize Foundation Scholarship. Her books for 9+ readers, Zo And The Forest Of Secrets and Zo and The Invisible Island are part of a fantasy adventure series with futuristic twists, set in nature on the island of Trinidad. It is published by 2022 British Book Award's Children’s Book Publisher of the Year, Knights Of, and was shortlisted for the Bocas Lit Fest Children's Book Prize. Alake has had residencies at the Community of Writers in California and the Cropper Foundation Creative Writing Workshop. She is at work on Book 2 of ZO.
